Cheney & Rumsfeld's 'serious' idea to address the root problems of the Middle East is a farce. Just like the Kossacks et al 'refuse to debate any serious alternatives,' Cheney & Rumsfield et al are refusing to tell the truth: their only 'serious' answer to the Middle East is interminable war. But they can't go to the American people and say "our plan for victory includes continuous war and occupation for the next 40 years" because adult Americans would turn their backs on that policy.

Sullivan's contention that Cheney & Rumsfield's 'serious plan' was held back by implementation problems is understatement on a massive scale.

Look at it this way, if Cheney, Rumsfield et al were serious about their own stated foreign policy goals of democratizing the Middle East and rooting out terrorists, they would appeal to the Congress for a Declaration of War, they would start rationing gasoline and moving us to a wartime buy-bonds-not-retail economy, and they would re-institute the draft for everyone aged 17-38, so we could put the 30 million pairs of boots on the ground we would need to in order to implement their 'serious plan' correctly.

Kudos to your Pops for calling a spade a spade.Cousin Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04445894373136726700noreply@blogger.com
