my profound soapbox
i imagine that, among the handful of people who might read this blog, when it comes to political stances there is a similarity of political view. in posting a link to a new york times op-ed piece, i doubt i'm opening any eyes. but this article hits on a value/concept that is important to me.
conservatives are all the time waxing nostalgic about the golden age, when marriages never ended and there was a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage (and homosexuals kept quiet about it). but said "golden age" was not brought about by trickle-down economics and laissez faire government. it's a historical fact that it was brought on by progressive tax policy, strong unions, and a newly installed social safety net. hippies and pinkos are not responsible for the death of the american dream, ronald reagan is. and the current regime is poised to finish the job.
there's really no point to this post, i just wanted to briefly pontificate. have a lovely weekend, loyal 4KS readers. you too, saucy.

you are so full of shit; in the good ole' days, women stayed in the kitchen, queers stayed quiet, and we all had mistresses. it was the bomb. our movie stars kept thier sex and drugs on the DL and we hated communists for no reason. Why post this shit anyway, when one could read about kennie bloggins fig recipes or sauce's ??? blank spaces.
