a raven haired beauty from our youth.
il gato grande called my attention to a little nytimes feature on one danica mckellar, aka- winnie cooper. mckellar, whose acting credits include the wonder years (as well as appearances in some of my earliest wet dreams), apparently just made a return to acting on west wing. a tad more impressively, mckellar, who in college did a little work in spacial mathematics, recently got a fucking theorem named after her (relating to magnetic fields, no less). this article instantly propelled her to near the top of my "celebrities i would try to date if i were a hot shot celebrity" list.
who makes your cut?
[as per the comments, i have taken the liberty of adding a photo from ms. mckellar's appearance in stuff magazine]

I think Katie Holmes might have held that position until she went totally batshit along with Tom Cruise.
salma.
scarlett, lost in translation style.
I also always had a thing for susannah hoffs.
good call, sauce, though i consider the "what movie character would you want to date" a separate (and perhaps even more engaging) question.
mc2, i thought yours was lucy liu.
You know your blog is getting boring when you ask questions like that.
"A raven haired beauty from our youth?"....sounds like a really bad emo song.
how about the actress from blossom? i thought she was hot, and possibly approachable, in middle school. her and winnie were tops.
I see that your attempts at celebrity blogging have been successful, judging by the number of comments you're getting. good job.
deuce deuce, your Blossom darling is now on Fat Actress with Kirstie Allie (sp?) playing, that's right - a fat actress.
as for me, I'd go geek love all the way - Jason Schwartzman, baby.
i sort of have a thing for vince vaughn, even though he's a bit bloated now.
ok, alysa milano. all the way.
alyssa, that is.
sauce, would you want to date alyssa milano or just sleep with her? i mean, she's hot, but she's never come off as cool to me. winnie cooper girl has it all (well, at least brains and hotness).
winnie cooper has that blinking problem that's annoying. maybe she got that fixed. Two years ago, mine would have been Vivica A Fox, but she's insane now. I'll go with Trina, Beyoncee, Amerie, Salma (like John) and damn, possibly M.I.A. And Scarlett Johansen if she didn't seem so dumb in interviews. and kate blanchett 'cuz she seems so cool.
soleil moon frye...Isn't that punky brewster?
wasn't winnie cooper in playboy? i thought she was for some reason. jamie lee curtis is also a hermaphrodite.
I don't recall Winnie being in Playboy...yeah, soleil moon frye. Punky turned out to be super hot. As far as I know, the stars of our youth that have been in playboy are mostly unexciting. Tiffany, that girl from Diff'rent Strokes, Debbie Gibson(actually cute...I'm gonna go crawl back into my lair of sin and die.
i have added a risque picture of ms. cooper to the post; this was provided to 4KS courtesy of a certain large mammal commentor. it is from stuff magazine. i have no idea if she's been in playboy.
mandy moore is a strong pick, and is bolstered by her appearance last night on entourage (as the only girl ever to break vince's heart).
the punky brewster girl is always on "i love the 80s" type shows. she is ridiculously attractive, and seems fairly witty.
Melissa Joan Hart? No way. Alex Mack was way cuter if you're going for the bland midwestern prairie girl-looking Snick stars.
for mame...
ghostface, your comment triggered a lengthy internet search to recall what becky slater looked like. that search ended up revealing the following:
a- becky slater was played by crystal mckellar, sister to danica.
b- that danica barely edged crystal for the part of winnie
c- "[Crystal] McKellar studied economics at Yale University from 1996 to 1999, graduating magna cum laude. While at Yale she was the editor of a magazine named Portia, and skiied for the university. She graduated from Harvard Law School (cum laude) in 2003."
unless she's very stuck up [distinctly possible], becky slater deserves consideration for the list as well.
about that pic. sesameseedsville!
First, I am super-impressed by mcMtl's internet search skills.
Second, inspired by the Winnie/Becky link, I did a little browsing and found out that Josh Saviano, who played Paul on the Wonder Years, is also an attorney now. You can see his profile here:

bravo on the research, il gato.
i actually held back before, but my research also revealed ms. crystal mckellar's recent career path. after two years clerking for the southern district court of california [based in her native san diego], ms. mckellar is now practicing in the new york office of davis polk & wardell, the firm "ranked 1st overall among law firms nationwide in a survey in which Fortune 250 law departments were asked to name the firms they rely on most."
her profile can be found here:

on second thought, i probably would not like her. but impressive none-the-less.
yeah, crystal was in my class. she was very right-wing conservative. paul was a year or two ahead of me. he was really into his frat - sigma nu. one starry magical night, we made out. (acutally have no idea if it was starry - seeing as it was in new haven, probably not.) when i would not have sex with him, he left my dorm room, never to retrun. he was hot though - which i never would have expected.
you made out with a wonder years cast member? you should have a t-shirt printed up about that.
