Something I thought would never happen in my life time...unfortunately, I couldn't be in the stadium in Berlin. I envy my friends who where there to see this happen.

i think it's interesting how runners / swimmers seem to save their best times for the olympics and world championships. if he's capable of shattering both records by over a tenth of a second, it would seem he could have already broken the record at some warmup meet if he so choose. similar phenomenom with phelps.
not saying it's wrong, it makes it way more dramatic. just think it's interesting.

you're right. it's pretty amazing how they do it. i believe they run so many races that they have a feel for every single tenth of a second.
